So todays' very short video is about remembering why you started and it applies to

  • starting a job,
  • starting a business,
  • starting on a new path,
  • starting on self-improvement,
  • starting on weight loss.

That initial impetus that got you going is rarely enough to keep you going.

So Many People Start Well Then Fade

But I find that most people that get tired and hold back or lose focus on that journey, if you can help them remember why they originally started and bring that reasoning back into focus, it really helps. And I think asking why you do anything is critical. I think always remembering that core reason will always bring you back on track. And sometimes we get so distracted along the way. I remember when I first started online, there was only one true reason and it went back to the 2008 world financial crisis where my punch and provision just literally went off a cliff. Even to this day with the recovery that has been with the advice I took at the time was very poor and my official pension, the one that I paid into for so many years, I don't think that would keep me and my wife in toilet roll going forward.

My Story

So I hit Scrabble mode and tried to find ways of replacing that pension with a residual or royalty type income. And on so many occasions on this path to self-discovery, starting an online business, starting a marketing online business, high ticket affiliate business, all these different little projects were all designed to create a residual passive income, but within all the platforms and systems that I looked into, the self-development work, which is critical. Having belief in yourself and belief in the outcome is a major part of that journey, but it became obsessive.
About me or my self-improvement journey became obsessive.
And it was: I will improve.
I don't care about the money.
The money is irrelevant as long as I'm a better version of myself.
If I can be the best version of me that there is, then I will be wealthy.

Don't Fall For The Bullshit

And that's kind of true. I really admire that both in myself and in others. But at the end of the day, you can't take that to the bank. I can't secure my wife and family's future with my self-esteem. I have to take action and create income. Income-producing activity has to be a core activity. So with that in mind, what are you doing today? What are you doing this week that is going to produce income either now or in the future or both? And if you can't honestly answer that question, you don't have to tell me, but to yourself. If you can't look yourself in the mirror and say, yeah, what I'm doing will definitively provide an income going forwards, then you owe it to yourself to question the distraction that has brought you to where you currently are. Does that make sense?

Do You Have A Business? Or, A Very Expensive Hobby?

And you need to question what it is you're actually doing and what you're involved in and where you should be focusing your time. Because if it's not an income-producing activity for now or the future, my polite suggestion is that you're been distracted. Does that make sense? Hope it does. If it doesn't, leave a comment and I'll come back and explain it again, hopefully, or reach out and we'll have a chat and see if I can help you because one thing I have become proficient at is taking a quick snapshot of people's business activities and highlighting areas where they are maybe over-focusing and areas where they need to focus, okay?
